I am sure each evening parents asks children, "Do you have any homework?" Most times the answer is NO! Even if a child says no, parents can still, read with the child, review math facts, review list words or even write sentences using those list words.
Homework is given for many reasons. Below is just a few of those reasons:
-Review skills taught in class
-Keep parents informed on what we are learning
-To develop a sense of responsibility
Some homework may be given online. It can be completed at anytime. However, if all items are completed early in the week, remember that some subjects may not have been taught until the day the homework is set for. All homework must be completed by Friday. No homework will be accepted after Friday.
Before starting homework, ask your child if he/she understands the skill that is to be completed. If your child is not sure practice a few with him/her.
